A committee is a group that keeps minutes and loses hours. ~ Milton Berle
We have heard many suggestions, and ideas from various homeowners. But it takes more than words to effect change; it takes action. The Valley needs motivated homeowners to serve on committees in order to see the progress we all desire. The following committees have been formed and are active:
Architectural Committee
Description: This committee will review homeowner’s requests for lot improvements as detailed in the Declarations of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions. Any improvements without prior written authorization are subject to a $1,000 fine plus weekly violation enforcement fines until any non authorized improvement/s are removed. You are also subject to a law suit for failure to comply with the Declarations of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions. . Contact the Valley POA for proper procedures to request a review of your improvement/s plans.
Social Events Committee
Description: This committee organizes & plans neighborhood events & social gatherings.
Nominating Committee
Description: This committee is responsible for nominating candidates for office within the organization.
Welcoming Committee
Description: This committee identifies and welcomes new neighbors, ensuring they know about the CC&Rs, website, 24-hour hotline, dues, etc.
Violation Enforcement Committee
Description: This committee identifies violations of the CC&Rs and works with Oklahoma City code enforcement, and homeowners to resolve violations.
Other committees we’d like to form if folks are willing to serve:
- Social Events
- Newsletter
- Neighborhood Watch (aka Crime Patrol)
The board will support you in your efforts and the entire neighborhood will benefit from your service. You don’t have to wait until a meeting to sign up. Just call the hotline or email us at directors@thevalleypoa.com.
